The Bethlehem Bunkhouse is Connecticut's premier vacation getaway!
Situated on All-Wright Acres, we are located in the Northwest corner of Connecticut — only two hours from Boston and New York, in scenic Litchfield county. The Farm is located on a quiet country road and is nestled among the Abbey of Regina Laudis.
Wake in the morning to the sounds of the barnyard and the many animals that live on it! Enjoy a cup of hot coffee and a homemade scone while you watch the animals grazing in the field. If you are feeling adventurous, join us for a lesson in milking and gather fresh eggs for your breakfast. Grab a quick workout in our fitness area followed by a refreshing outdoor shower. Or, maybe you would just like to relax poolside with a good book or soothe your tired body in the hot tub? Whatever your desires, here at the Bethlehem Bunkhouse relaxation is key. However you choose to relax, we will do everything we can to make you feel at home.
It all started with The Hippie Chicks, 9 hens that would provide us with farm fresh eggs every morning. They were quickly followed by The Goatee Girls who gave us creamy fresh milk every day which was soon turned into things like cheese, cajeta and soap. We have Shanique who is the Queen of the herd and our best producer of milk. She happily gives us 2 quarts every day. Next in line is Momma Mocha who just gave us our first doeling this past April, baby Cocoa. Then there is Pip, Dutchess and our beloved miracle Bambi. Bambi defied the odds and after becoming extremely ill with a very poor prognosis’s she pulled through and is now our most loving goat and constant companion. Frank is our rescue rooster and resident tough guy. He takes his job of guarding the barnyard very seriously and can be heard throughout the day crowing and clucking alerting everyone to dangers or if treats are coming their way! Recently 3 Alpacas joined our family, Moe, Curly and Larry, affectionately known as the 3 Stooges. Our hope is to be able to use their wool for things like felting and spinning into yarn. We also have 2 American Chinchella rabbits, Aayla and Padme who were gifts for our grandchildren and can often be found hopping around the vegetable garden sampling the lettuce. Our newest additions are 12 Guinea Hens who’s purpose is to control insects on the farm.
Aside from the farm family we have our 2 resident Swiss Mountain dogs, Dutch and Hauser. They run the show. Dutch is a show dog and teaching his little brother Hauser the ropes. They are also being taught to pull a wagon so they can help with the farm chores. Autumn is our tabby cat who stays indoors resting up high on the exposed beams throughout the house and lastly we have 2 hives of hardworking bees in the hopes of offering delicious honey for our guests to enjoy.
Here at All-Wright Acres our animals are treated like family. They all have names, distinct personalities, are well taken care of, treated with respect and most importantly they are loved.
